Acceptable Use Policy

Acceptable Use Policy for the Recept IO intake platform.

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to all users of the Recept IO intake platform (the Platform) provided by 4TH PARTNER LIMITED trading as Recept IO. This policy forms part of your agreement with us for use of the Platform alongside our Platform Terms and Conditions.

1. General principles

1.1 You must ensure that all use of the Platform complies with all applicable laws and regulatory rules, including SRA, Law Society, and financial conduct rules as applicable to your practice.

1.2 You must not use the Platform in any way that brings or is likely to bring Recept IO or its affiliates into disrepute.

2. Prohibited uses

2.1 You must not use the Platform to transmit, process, store or distribute any material or content that:

Is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, harassing, threatening or discriminatory;

Infringes any third party's intellectual property rights or privacy rights;

Contains, or links to, malicious software, viruses, Trojan horses, or harmful code;

Promotes illegal activities or unlawful acts;

Violates applicable anti-spam or marketing laws, including sending unsolicited commercial communications without an appropriate lawful basis or consent.

3. Platform misuse

3.1 You must not, and must not attempt to:

Gain unauthorised access to the Platform, its infrastructure, server networks, or connected databases;

Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Platform without prior written consent from Recept IO;

Interfere with or disrupt system security, integrity, or service performance;

Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from any software component powering the Platform;

Automate data scraping or unauthorized collection of user data outside of approved API integration protocols;

Resell, sublicense, or re-provide the Platform or website agent to third parties without our express written permission.

4. Responsible use of the Website Agent

4.1 The Website Agent is designed to assist with first-contact intake and enquiry triage. Customers must ensure that custom intake instructions, qualifying criteria, and routing rules configured within the Platform are accurate, fair, non-discriminatory, and aligned with standard professional conduct rules.

4.2 Customers must not misrepresent the capabilities or status of the Website Agent, nor configure it to offer regulated legal advice where human legal review is required under applicable legal professional regulations.

5. Data protection and security responsibilities

5.1 As controller of the personal data captured through the Website Agent, Customers are responsible for ensuring that appropriate privacy notices are made available to prospective clients and that intake fields are restricted to data necessary for intake. Customers must maintain reasonable access controls and password security regarding account credentials for the Platform.

6. Enforcement and suspension

6.1 We reserve the right to investigate suspected breaches of this policy. If a breach is confirmed, we may suspend or terminate access to the Platform in accordance with our Platform Terms and Conditions.
